The Transport and Transport Workers’ Federation (AKT) and employers’ association for road transport haven’t found an agreement, therefore, the strike will begin at 03.00 on Wednesday 1 March and end at 03.00 on Friday 10 March.
Update Saturday 4th March: The strike is finishing and the lines will be operating normally from Monday 6th March
The effects of a strike on local transport in the Kotka region will be described below. The announcments in the route guide kotka.digitransit.fi will be updated according to the new information.
The effects of a strike on local transport in the Kotka – Hamina – Pyhtää area will be especially significant in Kotka and on a Kotka-Hamina route. The strike will have no impact on the lines within Hamina and on local traffic in Pyhtää.
In a local transport in the Kotka region, a possible strike would affect the lines operated by Pohjolan Liikenne Oy. The strike will thus concern the following lines in Kotka: 1, 2, 5B, 6, 6K, 7, 8, 9, 9B, 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 25, 25S, 25T, 25Y, 27, 32B, 37B. Lines 6B, 9B and 34B, which are operated by another operator (Jyrkilä Oy), will be operated, same as service lines P001-P015.
Other local transport operators, namely Kymen Charterline Oy, Jyrkilä Oy and Liikenne Vuorela Oy, would not be affected by the strike. Thus, for example, the Kotka-Hamina service will be operated by the 1M high-speed Kotka – Hamina line.
Local transport services in Hamina and Pyhtää will not be affected by this strike. However, please note that between 27.2. – pe 3.3. school holiday timetables are valid: Talviloman vaikutukset aikatauluihin
